What you need before an ETH-to-XMR swap

You need ETH in a wallet you control and a Monero wallet address for the payout. The deposit must be native ETH on Ethereum mainnet: not an ERC-20 token, not wrapped ETH, and not ETH sitting on Arbitrum, Base, Optimism or another network that uses the same 0x address format. Your Monero wallet gives you a 95-character address starting with 4, or a subaddress starting with 8; either works.

  • Set up the Monero wallet first and copy its receive address from inside the wallet.
  • Keep ETH in the sending wallet for gas; the deposit fee is paid by your wallet, not by the order.
  • If your ETH is on a layer-2 network, bridge it to mainnet before you start, or the deposit will not arrive.

Checking the quote

The ETH → XMR pair page shows 1 ETH ≈ x XMR from Kraken’s last trade price, with a UTC timestamp, as a reference. Your order fixes the actual receive amount for 15 minutes with the 0.5% service fee already inside it. Ethereum gas is separate and varies with network load; check your wallet’s estimate before you send, because a very low gas setting can delay the deposit past the quote window.

Creating the order

Choose ETH as the sending coin and XMR as the receiving coin, enter the amount, paste your Monero address and review the receive amount. There is no account: the order carries a private tracking reference that opens the order page and the activity log. Save it before sending. The deposit address appears on the order page as soon as the order exists.

  • Minimum order: $50 in value.
  • Receive amount valid for 15 minutes.
  • Send only from a wallet where you control the keys, so the transaction is a plain transfer.

Sending ETH

Send exactly the amount shown to the deposit address, on Ethereum mainnet, in one transaction. Ethereum confirmations are quick in normal conditions; the order page records when the deposit is confirmed and when the payout is on its way. Each status change is checked by the operator, so the page can lag the blockchain by a few minutes. Do not send from a contract that pays out through internal transactions, and do not send a token that merely has ETH in its name.

Receiving Monero

The XMR payout goes to the address on your order. Monero wallets show new funds as pending until 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes, after which they are unlocked and spendable. If your wallet was created recently it may need to finish scanning the blockchain before the payment appears; that is a wallet-side delay, not a missing payout. The order page shows the payout transaction once it is sent.

What this swap does and does not hide

Your ETH deposit stays public on Ethereum: the sending address, amount and transaction hash are visible forever. What changes is the other side: once the Monero payout is in your wallet, later transfers are private by default. VeriSwap does not require identity documents, but a swap is not anonymity, and your legal duties do not change.

Common mistakes on this route

The errors we see most often on ETH → XMR.

  • Sending ETH on a layer-2 network to a mainnet deposit address.
  • Sending an ERC-20 token such as USDT or WETH instead of ETH.
  • Pasting an exchange’s Monero deposit address when that exchange does not accept XMR deposits.
  • Setting gas so low that the deposit confirms after the 15-minute quote window.
